Doreen Hemlock (left), business reporter of the SunSentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, visited CARIMAC on Monday, October 4 to talk to students in the Journalism and Media & Communication programmes. Hemlock, who has extensive experience in covering the Caribbean for the Sun Sentinel, and for the San Juan Star and Caribbean Business – both based in Puerto Rico – told the students about what they should expect as professional journalists. She shared with them some of the challenges she encountered and how she overcame them. Here, she chats with CARIMAC director Canute James.
