"Respect" shown in honour of Rex

Franklyn St. Juste, Respect's director and CARIMAC adjunct lecturer.

"Respect", a film that details the 1999 installation of Professor the Honourable Ralston 'Rex' Nettleford as Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, was shown at CARIMAC as a mark of respect and remembrance. Professor Nettleford was instrumental in the establishment of CARIMAC, and up to the time of his death taught History, Politics and Culture of the West Indies in the Diploma Programme.

The film's director and CARIMAC adjunct lecturer, Franklyn St. Juste said "even though the film was produced by CPTC, it was important for CARIMAC to show it because of Professor Nettleford's connection and contribution with the department".
